Course Goals
This course provides you with an
introduction to social research. Its most general goal is to
teach you how to think like a researcher. More specifically, when
you have successfully completed this course you will be skilled
at:
- Translating social theory
into appropriate research design.
- Using a variety of social
research methods and understanding their strengths and
weaknesses.
- Using the computer in social
science research.
- Analyzing the ethical issues
involved in social research.
- Presenting the results of
social research clearly, accurately and cogently.
- Critically analyzing social
research presented by others.
- Designing research projects.
